Mounting TV above fireplace?
Is this a good or bad idea? Is it safe? Where can I find good quotdoityouselfquot instructions?

Sorry but heres why you might not want to do that.brbr Wrong viewing height. TV should be centered at eye level or slightly down from that. Over the Fireplace would cause neck strain. brbr Will most often void warranty. Most manufactures will stipulate extremes in temperature as not covered under warranty, and yes this would count. brbr Cables are hard to fish behind a wall, add a fireplace and would be hard for even a professional installer. brbrI have included links to give you some other ideas.
